“After the Bahamas and Malta, IMAT adds another important flag on a global level as part of a strategy for the gradual internationalization of its offerings. IMAT has been accredited by the Panamanian flag for the provision of BST courses for several months. These are specifically educational courses conducted exclusively in English through the in-house developed computer platform by the Center. In practice, students can complete the entire training program cycle (lessons and receipt of educational materials) remotely.
Following this significant accreditation from the Panamanian flag, the next objective is to achieve accreditation for the same courses and for refreshers to be conducted in-person. The effort to expand the portfolio of accreditations does not stop at these important results, and in the coming months, other national registries will start collaborating with the Maritime Training Center of Castel Volturno.
Erminia Della Monica, the sole administrator of IMAT, stated: “We announce with great satisfaction that the internationalization journey of the Center continues without interruption, and the results achieved and the objectives we work towards in this regard are a real recognition of the quality of training. We commit to maintaining this quality at the highest levels, also through constant updating and implementation of courses offered to shipowners and directly to seafarers of all ranks and specializations.”
