Since the beginning of this year, IMAT has been fully equipped to conduct electronic testing. The Academy has deployed 100 tablets and four charging stations, allowing candidates to take part in up to five examination sessions simultaneously.

This initiative stems from IMAT’s involvement in a technical working group convened as part of the ongoing ministerial reorganization aimed at restructuring the test databases for maritime training courses.

The test questions have been uploaded to IMAT’s proprietary digital platform, which already supports the delivery of online courses. The platform will also host the new national question banks, standardized across all training centers, as they are released by the Ministry.

One of the key features of the tablets is the use of dedicated software that restricts device navigation solely to the pages and instructions relevant to the examination.

The newly introduced, tested, and certified procedure streamlines the correction and validation process, enabling near real-time assessment and eliminating the need for paper documentation.

A further step by IMAT towards process innovation and environmental sustainability.
