IMAT Completes the UNI ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Assessment Process
IMAT has completed the UNI ISO 26000 assessment process on Social Responsibility.
The standard is an international guideline aimed at providing indications on how to implement social responsibility, namely the principles that an organization should put into practice in its operations and in its relationships with all interested parties.
“UNI ISO 26000 is not a certifiable standard but a model of best practices that IMAT has chosen to integrate into its governance system,” explains the Sole Director of the Centre, Ermina della Monica.
“Specifically, we adhere to a series of guidelines regarding social responsibility in order to assess the sustainability of our business strategies.”
The principles considered by UNI ISO 26000 concern:
the social and environmental impacts of business activities and decisions;
the adoption of ethical and transparent behaviour;
compliance with the interests, requests, and expectations of stakeholders.
The actions envisaged by the standard focus on the involvement of the various functions within the organization, on risk analysis, on staff awareness and training, without neglecting reflection on the area of influence and the direct and indirect impacts of the organization’s activities.
“IMAT’s objective is to equip itself with an operational tool to further enhance its development path,” concludes Della Monica.
“We aim to become a point of reference, starting from our local area, not only in terms of technological innovation and economic growth but also in the increasingly strategic domain of sustainability.”
